Town Clerk Busy With Election And Tax Bills

By By Joanna Sumner, Andover Town Clerk/Tax Collector

So much is happening here in November: an election, tax bills, and the upcoming holidays. Please remember that the Town Clerk’s office is very involved working at the polls on Election Day, November 6, and cannot be in the office. Our office will be closed on Tuesday, November 6, for the election; Monday, November 12, in observance of Veterans Day; Thursday, November 22, for Thanksgiving; and Saturday, November 24, for the holiday weekend.

Motor Vehicle Renewal Letters

There is a different look to the Department of Motor Vehicle renewal letters this month. We have changed our on-line renewal service to a new provider called Invoice Cloud, and the notification – as well as the instructions – to renew on-line are much easier to find and to follow. Invoice Cloud has the capability of doing our tax billing on-line and doing our DMV renewal letters on-line: services that can save the Town time and money.

Paying Taxes In Advance

Last year we offered taxpayers the opportunity to make small payments or monthly payments during the year to help alleviate the burden of the annual tax bill. Many of our residents have taken advantage of this service.

There is no contract to sign, nor is there any monthly commitment. It is just an opportunity to pay on your 2013 tax bill in advance – a little at a time, or in monthly installments. Just send in a check or stop by with it. It will be credited to your account and automatically reduce the amount you’ll owe in December of next year.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
