Mount Sunapee Resort Receives Seven Top-10 Rankings

Annual Ski Magazine survey

Press release

Mount Sunapee Resort received seven top-10 rankings for the Eastern United States and Canada in the annual Ski Magazine Reader Survey which appears in their October issue.

Mount Sunapee ranked #3 in Grooming and #4 in Snow Quality. Over the past ten years, Mount Sunapee has averaged a #3 ranking in Grooming and Snow Quality, and no other resort in the East has matched that consistency over the past decade.

Mount Sunapee ranked #2 in the East and #1 in New Hampshire for Service. “Of all of our rankings this year, this is the one that pleases us the most,” says Jay Gamble, general manager for Mount Sunapee. “There can be a lot of weather variables when you go skiing or snowboarding, but the one thing we can control every day is our staff having a helpful and friendly rapport with our guests.”

Mount Sunapee moved into the top 10 for Lifts this year thanks to the new Sunbowl Express High-Speed Quad, which was installed for the 2014-2015 season. This high-speed quad chair replaced a fixed-grip quad chair in the Sunbowl and cuts the riding time to the summit by more than half. Now, both lifts to Mount Sunapee’s 2,743-foot summit are high-speed quads.

The resort ranked #3 in the East and #1 in New Hampshire for being Kid Friendly. Even though Mount Sunapee is one of the bigger resorts in New Hampshire ,with 66 trails and 10 lifts, there is one convenient base area that serves the whole resort, which families love.

In addition to top-10 rankings in many of the categories most important to skiers and snowboarders – snow, grooming, service, lifts, and taking care of the kids – Ski Magazine readers also ranked Mount Sunapee in the top 10 in the East for Value. And, being the closest big mountain to southern New Hampshire and eastern Massachusetts and only a 90-minute drive from Boston, Mount Sunapee ranked #1 in the East for Accessibility.
