Free Workshop on Attracting Bees and Butterflies

Protecting our precious pollinators

Press release

The University of New Hampshire’s (UNH) Cooperative Extension and the Boscawen Agricultural Commission will sponsor a free workshop entitled Attracting Bees and Butterflies to Your Garden on Monday, July 11, from 6:30 to 8 PM.

Making your garden appealing to bees and butterflies is good for your plants and will delight the gardeners. We’ll discuss what’s harming the pollinators and what we can do to help them. You will learn what plants attract bees and receive a list of host plants for a variety of butterflies in our region.

We will also cover what you can do to protect their habitat once they arrive. A UNH Cooperative Extension Master Gardener, who is enthusiastic about this topic, will be the speaker.

The workshop will be held at the Boscawen Municipal Complex on the fourth floor of 116 North Main Street in Boscawen. Register by contacting Mary West at 796-2151 or mary.west@nullunh.edu.
