Andover Congregational Church, October 2016

Last flea market and bake sale on October 29

By Sandy Miller, Andover Congregational Church

Our fall schedule is underway with lots of spiritual opportunities going on. Sunday School for children began on September 18 under the direction of Bonnie Wesley. This runs during the Church service from 9:30 to approximately 10:45. We would love to see some new faces in the program. Call Bonnie at 735-5486 for more information.

Men’s breakfast – called “Second Saturdays for Guys” – begins on Saturday, October 8, at 8:15 AM at the Highland Lake Grange Hall. This begins with breakfast (no charge, but you may give a donation) and is usually followed by a guest speaker. Come and enjoy this uplifting gathering – you will be made to feel welcome. If you can’t stay for the program, at least come for fellowship and the breakfast. Call Bob Grover at 470-7248 for further information.

“The Bible in 180 Days” class began on Tuesday, September 20. It is not too late to join this group. It runs from 7 to approximately 8:30 PM at the Highland Lake Grange Hall. Call the Church office at 735-5160 to register.

The ever-popular Alpha class is also underway. It is held at the Grange Hall on Tuesdays at 6 PM, beginning with a meal provided by volunteers, and finishes up around 8:45 PM.

The Board of Trustees has been busy addressing the physical needs of the Church. The furnace at the Church is in need of repair – in need of a new heat exchange unit and a more efficient way of regulating the heat. This work is expected to cost over $4,000.

We are also trying to determine the next step for Highland Lake Grange Hall repairs. Never a dull moment!

The last Flea Market and Bake Sale for this year will be held on Saturday, October 29, from 8:30 AM until 2 PM at the Grange Hall. All proceeds benefit the restoration of the Grange Hall. Our Christmas Craft Fair and Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, November 19. More information on this next month.

The Andover Congregational Church is a place of gathering for Christian believers from a number of denominational church backgrounds and no church background. We are a family of Christian believers who are called together to worship and glorify God, to follow our Lord, and to support one another in love. We welcome you to join us for Church service any Sunday at 9:30 AM.

Thought for the day: “Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” (Read Galatians 6:7.)
