AE/MS Celebrates International Walk to School Day

On October 5, the AE/MS school community walked to school together! International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking to school on the same day. This event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record-breaking participation – each October. Thousands of schools across America, from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, participated this October. AE/MS students all agree that it is an energizing and fun way to start the school day. Students stay on the Rail Trail all the way to school and upon arrival are greeted with orange slices, water, and lively music. And of course, no celebration is complete without Ernie the Eagle!
