Congregational Church News, February 2017

By Sandy Miller, Andover Congregational Church

We’re welcoming 2017 and pray that this will be a good year for all of you. We’re looking forward to a busy, spirit-filled year at the Church. The Lenten season will soon be upon us (Ash Wednesday, March 1st). We recently welcomed six new members into our Church: Arthur Tobin, Allison Barry, Donna Dumont, Meredith Grover, and Jim and Carol Tuerk. We look forward to growing together in Christ.

The Church has recently decided to make a commitment to the Twin Rivers Food Pantry in Franklin. A group of people will be volunteering on Tuesday mornings on a once a month basis. Linda McGrail is the contact person (934-3896) if you would like to help out. It is our goal to bring the presence of the Kingdom to people in the area by acts of kindness and Christian love.

The Church’s annual meeting will be held on Sunday, January 29, following Church service and refreshments. All members are expected to attend and visitors are welcome to attend as well. We will be accepting reports of committees for 2016, nominating members for positions within the Church for 2017, and adopting a budget for 2017.

Always feel free to call the Church office (735-5160) to speak with Pastor John Wagner for more information on what’s going on at the Church or if you need help in any way.

Thought for the day: “Spend more of your time, energy, and resources investing in people than you do investing in yourself.”
