The Strength of Our Democracy: Reflections on the 2016 election, is the title of a presentation to be given by Eric Boyer, Associate Professor, Social Science and Education, Colby-Sawyer College. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, May 16, at 7 PM in the Stone Chapel, located on Andover’s town green.

The 2016 election highlighted deep divides in the country about whether we are heading in the right direction, as well as starkly different visions for how we, as a country, should tackle the pressing challenges facing us. Boyer will explore the issues that resonated for voters, candidates, and political parties in the recent election, give historical context to the current divisiveness, examine the challenges facing the country, and clarify the foundational principles of the U.S. Constitution that underlie our system of government.
