Patrice Ann Martin passed away on May 30, 2017, after living with cancer for three years. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, September 16, 1951, she was the oldest of eight children of Helen and Paul Martin of Elsmere, Deawarel. She moved to Boston in 1968 and met her husband Jonathan Siegel three years later. They lived in Wellfleet, Massachusetts for several years before moving to Andover, New Hampshire in 1978 when Jon started teaching industrial arts at Proctor Academy. Two years later Patrice also began teaching at Proctor. In 2002, they built a house together in Wilmot where she lived until her death.

Patrice taught courses in ceramics and photography and was a gifted teacher who taught her students patience, confidence, integrity and environmental responsibility along with the skills of their crafts. Many of those she mentored went on to successful careers in the arts.

Patrice was herself a talented and prolific artist whose works of pottery and photography are treasured by her family and friends. She also had an incredible green thumb and inspired many with her knowledge and skill as a gardener and plant whisperer.

Patrice is survived by her husband of 40 years, five siblings, step-son David Siegel of Brooklyn, N ewYork, and brother-in-law Jeremy Siegel, professor at the University of Pennsylvania, and his family. Patrice loved and was loved by everyone who knew her. In recent weeks, she received dozens of letters from former students who wrote about how she touched their lives; not only through the arts, but by showing them how to live in harmony and peace with others and with the world.
