Andover Congregational Church News, July 2017

By Sandra Miller, Andover Congregational Church

We wish each of you a Happy Summer! Happy Summer! It does feel like it has finally arrived. The Missions Committee continues to be busy. Mitch Foreman of the “Chosen People Ministries” recently brought us a message from God’s Word for Pentecost Sunday – relating the Old Testament promises to our New Testament reality in Christ. A “love” offering was collected for this ministry. On June 11th, a representative from the “Gideon’s Bible Ministry” spoke about their mission which is to bring the word of God to individuals by providing Bibles free for the taking.. When you find a bible in the drawer of a night stand at hotels, etc. it was put there by the Gideon organization.

On June 30th there will be a Fifth Friday Praise and Worship service to be held at the Andover Congregational Church (Grange Hall). Area church people are all invited to attend. Time is 7 PM. Call Pastor John Wagner at 735-5160 for further information.

The Andover Congregational Church will have a prayer tent for outreach and ministry at the Fourth of July celebration in Andover. There will be trained individuals available to pray with you and for you. They will pray for healing or whatever your needs might be. Please come and take advantage of this powerful ministry. We will also be selling cotton candy on the grounds with profits being turned over to local food pantries.

Don’t forget our monthly flea market and bake sales which will always be held on the last Saturday of the month. from 8:30 till 2 PM at the Grange Hall. All proceeds will go to benefit the Grange Hall Restoration Fund.

There are many opportunities to worship with us. Sunday Worship services and Kids’ Church are held at 9:30 AM. Please join us. Always feel free to call the Church office (735-5160) to speak with Pastor John Wagner for more information on what’s going on at the Church or if you need help in any way.

Thought for the day: “Falling down doesn’t make you a failure, but staying down does.” Read Proverbs 24:16a
