Wilmot Farmers Market Open Through September

Saturdays from 9 AM to Noon

Press Release

The Wilmot Farmers Market has barely started, making it the perfect time to make it a habit to make a Saturday morning stop at the Wilmot Town Green to buy the finest and freshest products from your neighborhood farms and artisans.

The market will have new farms joining the market that will provide you with more choices and more variety. Whether you stop for breakfast, a snack or just to socialize, it is important to make Wilmot your farmers market for the 2017 season. There are vendors bringing totes, boxes, cartons, crates and coolers to 9 Kearsarge Valley Road. They will be there from 9-noon every Saturday through September 30th. The vendors have planned, planted and produced, and now the customer becomes an integral part of the market. You are the key piece in continuing a strong customer base that will sustain the Saturday morning tradition of music, friends and local food buying. Truly, without being nourished by customer attendance and financial support of its vendors, the market will wither and die. Come out this season and see what we have grown for you.

July 1st begins with a nod to our patriotic side. If you are one of the first 100 customers on the green, you will receive a flag. At 10am, take a moment to pause with us as American Post 40 will present the flag. While many other events are planned throughout the season, there is one on July 22nd that requires pre-registration. A Cooking Matters Workshop will be presented by Haley Earl from 10-11:30. Haley will talk about the benefit of shopping at farmers markets, how to purchase healthy foods and tips on buying local foods. Space is limited. Sign up by calling Haley Earl at 796-2151 or e-mail haley.earl@nullunh.edu. Participants will receive a market tote, a book of recipes and purchasing tips, a market tour and $10 in market coupons. While the program was designed to make the most out of SNAP dollars, being a SNAP recipient is not a prerequisite and attendees at the Danbury Winter Market had excellent reviews of the class and loved the booklet that is only obtained by attending a class.

There are a lot of good things happening at the Wilmot Farmers Market this season. Join us and become a part of a good thing.
