Gretchen H. (Herberger) Buswell, 65, of Townsend, formerly of Warwick, Rhode Island died Thursday, September 28, 2017, at her residence.

Mrs. Buswell was born in Providence, Rhode Island, December 31, 1951, the daughter of the late Raymond and Alberta (Connell) Herberger and grew up in Warwick, RI. She has resided in Townsend for over 30 years.

Following her graduation from high school in Warwick she continued her education at Rhode Island College where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1973 and in 1975 she received her Masters of Library Science from the University of Rhode Island.

She leaves her husband of 30 years, David W. Buswell; a daughter, Heidi Wilcox of Pepperell, Massachusetts; a stepson, Christopher Buswell of Andover, New Hampshire; four grandchildren, James Getek, Emily Getek, Hayden Buswell and Dana Buswell.

For several years, Mrs. Buswell worked as a teller at the former Heritage Credit Union, currently the Workers Credit Union, in Townsend.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 5 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, (Route 119) Townsend Center. Please see www.anderesonfuneral.com for additional information.
