Irene Frances (Biercyznski) Nye

Irene  F. Nye, 75, a resident of East Andover for many years, died suddenly at her home, Tuesday, October. 10, 2017,  with her husband at her side.  Irene was born in Wilmington, Delaware, August. 6, 1942, daughter of the late, Bronislaw and Anna  (Kopanski) Bierczynski. She spent her youth and schooled in Wilmington, graduating from Wilmington High School.  She fell in love with  a Navy Sailor, and they married before he shipped out to sea.  During their married years,  Irene moved often while he served his country.  She was employed over the years with a bakery up until her marriage, and later worked in finance.  Following her husband’s discharge they moved from place to place, later moving to East Andover with their two children in 1975 where she resided until her death.   Irene was very fond of animals and always had a dog in her home.   She enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada with her husband while he ran his hauling business, delivering trucks.  She enjoyed sewing and shared her work with others. She was employed for several years with the U.S. Post Office in East Andover as PMR (Postmaster Relief).  

She was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche Schuster and Regina Donavan.

She leaves her husband of 55 years, David D. Nye of East Andover; their son, David Lee Nye of California; and their daughter, Rebecca Lynn Nye of the State of Washington; and seven grandchildren.

She also leaves a brother, Ronald Bierczynski of Florida; and three sisters, Anna Sprague and Helen Rivell, both of Florida and Kathleen Zill of New York.  Numerous nieces and nephews.

Following  Irene’s wishes, there are no calling hours.  

A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2018 at the Lakeside Cemetery in East Andover when her family gathers.
