“Fall Back Fling” fundraiser nets over $10,000

The New London Rotary Club’s “Fall Back Fling” fundraiser netted over $10,000 for its literacy and gift giving programs.   

New London Rotary Club member Kelsie Clarke (left) and President Jayne Rayne (right) are pleased to announce that over $10,000 was netted from the Fall Back Fling fundraiser. Forty auction items were donated and 150 people attended the event.

Consistent with Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self, the Club provides 15 readers who visit all second, first and Kindergarten grades in the Kearsarge Regional School District, Andover and Sunapee School Systems. Rotarians also present at the end of the school year over 500 books as gifts to all Kindergarteners and First Graders to take home. Books are presented to second grade classrooms.  In addition, New London Rotary provides literacy grants to librarians and teachers.

Rotary has a Gift Giving program and donates to a dozen worthy local organizations annually in the spirit of helping others for the greater good of friends, neighbors and the community at large.  Rotary will consider requests for funds that benefit education, health, social services, the arts, and civic projects.  Individuals and/or families in the Club’s territorial area with special needs as a result of accident, illness, disability, etc., may apply for assistance.  Individuals may also apply for funds to attend enrichment or leadership development programs.

People join Rotary for many reasons, including community involvement, personal development, professional networking and camaraderie.  New London Rotary welcomes individuals who reside in the territorial area of our Club which includes West Andover, Bradford, South Danbury, Newbury, New London, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton, Warner and Wilmot OR he/she must be employed by a company/business within the territorial area.
