Wilmot Ladies Aid Society Announces 2017 Merit Awards

Awards given to three outstanding students

The Wilmot Ladies Aid Society wishes to congratulate its three 2017 Merit Award winners.  The WLAS Merit Awards are monetary awards given to outstanding students to help them defray the expense of continuing their education after high school. These awards are given annually based on exceptional character, scholastic achievement, and community involvement. The program is funded by projects such as the society’s famous holiday Cookie Walk and a Music on the Wilmot Bandstand concession supper during the summer months.

This year three individuals, all from Wilmot, were recognized for their achievements: Nicole Blake a junior at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H., Samantha Hardy a sophomore at Colby Sawyer College in New London, N.H., and Sarah Young a freshman at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.  “We are so proud to be able to support these outstanding young people,” said WLAS president, Connie Jordan.

All are welcome to attend the society’s fun and friendly monthly lunch meetings at the WCA at noon on the first Thursday of the month beginning in April. Call Annette at 526 6670 for more information.
