Pine Hill Ski Club Opens for 41st Season

Cross Country Skiing in New London, Wilmot, Sutton

Press release
A classic-groomed trail leads off into the woods at Pine Hill Ski Club.

Pine Hill Ski Club will open for its 41st season as soon as there is snow covering the trails.  About 25 kilometers of cross country ski trails are groomed, especially for classic Nordic skiers. The Club’s non-profit management, maintenance, grooming and other tasks are all done by volunteers who enjoy seeing members of the local communities (and friends from afar) skiing the open fields, in the woods and along the brooks of Pine Hill.  This year the Club will also skate-groom a short section of trail.
Day passes are available at the trailhead at 222 Mountain Road in New London for $15; season passes at $99 for adults are available until the end of December (see www.pinehillskiclub.com for mail-in form).  Daily passes can also be purchased at Village Sports in New London or Nordic Skater in Newbury.
The Pine Hill Ski Club local trails pass through New London, Sutton and Wilmot, thanks to the generosity of thirteen landowners. The Town of New London permits the Club to use Shepard Pit at 222 Mountain Road for parking and its trailhead. PHSC grooms the trails as needed throughout the season and posts daily ski conditions at the trailhead and on its website, www.pinehillskiclub.com.  Robb’s Hut, a gathering place at the end of one trail, is open weekends for warming and special events.
