Preventing Falls as One Ages, Class at the Hub

By Susan Chase, The Andover Hub

A workshop on reducing the risks of falling as one gets older will be offered at The Andover Hub on Tuesday, March 13, at 10:15 a.m. by the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association (VNA).   The Hub is located at 157 Main Street, next to Pizza Chef, and all are welcome.

According to the VNA, while one in three older Americans fall each year, often resulting in continuing health problems, it is important to realize that falls do not need to be accepted as a necessary or natural part of aging and can be prevented. This workshop will explore common factors that can lead to a fall and simple steps one can take to minimize the risk.

Since Tuesday morning is also community coffee time at the Hub, attendees can plan to drop in for a cup of coffee and conversation any time after 8:30 AM and then stay for the presentation as well.  For more information about The Andover Hub and to be added to the ongoing email list, contact AndoverCommunitySpace@nullgmail.com.
