WILMOT – To help gardeners prepare for spring, the Wilmot Community Association (WCA) and the Wilmot Garden Club will host two workshops focusing on sustainable gardening methods.

Leon Malan, Ph.D., Colby-Sawyer College Professor of Natural and Environmental Sciences, will lead the first session. Join Professor Malan from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 25 at the WCA’s Red Barn, 64 Village Road.

A follow-up, hands-on workshop will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 8 at the Colby-Sawyer College permaculture garden. You will find the garden at the south end of campus (on Main Street in New London) outside of the Sustainable Classroom. (Building 10 on the campus map at colby-sawyer.edu/pdf/campus-map.pdf.)

“We are very excited to be partnering with students from Colby-Sawyer to offer this program,” said Lindy Heim, a member of the garden club. “What a great way to get our green thumbs energized and to showcase the college. It is a wonderful resource for our region.”
