In Proctor Academy’s Stone Chapel last month, living-history artist Gwendolyn Quezaire-Presutti offered a dramatic portrayal of Oney Judge Staines (1778-1843), George and Martha Washington’s runaway slave who made her way to a new life in Portsmouth, N.H.  Based on N.H. newspaper interviews of the period and offered by the New Hampshire Humanities to Go program, Quezaire-Presutti’s performance was sponsored by the Andover Libraries. About 40 attended.
