Proctor Spring Musical: In the Heights

By Scott Allenby, Proctor Academy

Proctor Academy’s theater department will present the play In the Heights as its annual spring musical on May 18 and 19 at 7 pm in the Wilkins Meeting House. Tickets are free and the show is open to the public, but please reserve a seat ahead of time by visiting Proctor’s Performing Arts website: www.proctoracademy.org/page/on-campus/arts/performing-arts. The musical, with music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is set over the course of three days, involving characters in the largely Hispanic-American neighborhood of Washington Heights in New York City where a young store owner watches the joys and heartbreaks of his tight-knit community as they pass through his bodega. Andover’s Ryelle Jenifer ‘20, Tori Braley ‘20, Nelson Makechnie ‘19, Britta Johnson ‘19, and River Turnbull ‘22 are all a part of the cast.
