Division of Motor Vehicles to Provide Wait Times

Wait times shown on DMV Website

Press Release

CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is pleased to announce the implementation of a new online system that will display current wait times for the busiest DMV locations.
Beginning on May 17, information available at www.nh.gov/dmv will show the number of customers currently waiting at a specific DMV location and the longest wait time currently being experienced by any customer. Wait time information will be available for Concord, Nashua, Manchester, Dover and Salem offices.
“We are continually looking for ways to improve a customer’s experience at our offices,” DMV Director Elizabeth Bielecki said. “By providing wait time information online, our customers will be able to plan their DMV visit to fit within their daily schedule.”
Online wait times will be updated by the recently installed queuing system which tracks the wait time from when a customer receives a ticket at the greeter counter to when he or she is called to the counter to complete a transaction.
Customers are encouraged to prepare for their DMV visit by following these tips:
• Visit www.nh.gov/dmv to determine what you need to complete your transaction.
• Print out and complete required forms at home ahead of your visit.
• Avoid peak times. The first and last weeks of the month are typically the busiest, especially Mondays and Fridays. Try visiting mid-morning or mid-afternoon for reduced wait times.
