Treasurer’s Report
Soccer budget – looking to purchase new uniforms and portable benches for Blackwater Park.
Ski Program: Clarified billing process for the ski program with Ragged Mountain.
Programs/Activities
Soccer
Sign-ups are online for the fall.
Flyer enclosed in AEMS newsletter last week and people are slowly signing up
Soccer information will be included in the newsletter until end of the year.
Equipment update
will check this summer for a few new balls.
Proposal for materials to build new wooden benches for the field. Approved by committee.
Want to buy new paint for the soccer fields as well.
Ice Rink
Great to have big group of Proctor students helping with cleaning up the rink for the winter.
Two more projects – need to clear out an area next to building to put the tarp.
Painting project of the building needs to happen.
Will make a decision to go one more year with the liner.
Mountain Biking:
Upcoming summer program – Drew Donaldson running a learn to ride program on Thursday evenings. Reminder all coaches/chaperones need to have background checks through the town.
Need to funnel fundraisers through the Recreation Committee – Tom to talk directly with Drew about these in order to ensure Town knows of fundraisers and accounts for them properly.
Learn to Swim
Still looking for someone to teach lessons on Highland Lake this summer. Working with Franklin Recreation Department to see if we can share a teacher.
Building Update:
Steve Barton has the go-ahead from the Committee to keep working on building. Putting window in on first baseline side, put in countertop donated by Bellettes, trim around interior wall, and base cabinet by sink.
Looking to get roll up window on first baseline side to match.
Building first went up in 2013.
New Business:
4th of July Fundraiser – Closest to Pin happening again this year.
Will gather volunteers as we get closer.
Get prizes from local golf clubs and ask for free greens fees.
Firecracker 5K hoping to use the building for the 5K race on 4th of July – committee approved.
Playground –
Really want to move forward with Alan’s idea from last year to fence off top of culvert and fence off along the edge of driveway
Priorities:
Safety – fencing along driveway and culvert – need to ask Andover Fence Company if this is something they would help with. – Heidi calling to ask.
Somehow fence off culvert
Two slides with boulders in between to climb on
Stand alone games or cargo net – look at swing set with slide attachment as well as playscape slides.
