Drug Take Back Day is Successful

Nearly 25 pounds of medications turned in

By Joe Mahoney, Police Chief

The drug take back event held on April 28 at the Circle K Store was very successful.  We received approximately 22.3 pounds of medication that residents of Andover and Wilmot no longer wanted to have in their possession. This far exceeded my expectations for our first attempt at this. Officer Shaw of Andover P.D. and Chief Zuger of Wilmot P.D. were at Circle K from 10 am to 2 pm.
It is important to get rid of the drugs that people are no longer using, so it does not fall into the hands of another person for possible abuse.  Also without the drugs in the house it helps to eliminate any last minute temptations that a person may have for experimenting with them.
The Andover and Wilmot Police Departments plan on participating in the next take back program in the fall.
