Andover Lions Club Launches Membership Drive

Press Release

Lions Club International, the world’s largest service club organization, with more than 1.35 million members, is celebrating their centennial.  For 100 years the Lions have been fighting blindness, caring for the environment, suppressing hunger, aiding seniors and the disabled, serving local organizations and charities, and providing educational programs and scholarships.  The Andover Lions Club has been providing like services for more than sixty years while serving Andover, Salisbury, Danbury and Wilmot.
In offering continued support to the local communities, the local Lions hold or participate in numerous fundraisers and programs annually benefiting young and old alike.  Over the last twelve months alone, we have raised well over $10,000. This has been used to screen more than five hundred children for sight and hearing defects, two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors, supported donations to local and state organizations and charities, youth education and programs, and assist local food banks.
All of this takes volunteer man hours.  To help improve our service to the community, we are looking for new members.  If you would like to share the feeling of pride and satisfaction by giving a part of yourself to help the people around you, we offer you that opportunity.  We plan, promote and participate in numerous diversified projects throughout the year to meet these goals.
