Telephone Museum Serving Up “Brews for Bell”

Fundraiser on Sun., Aug 12 at 11:30

Press Release

Love locally crafted beer? Then the New Hampshire Telephone Museum is where you will want to be on Sunday, August 12 from 11:30AM  to 2 PM. Now in its third year, this year’s museum fundraising event promises all of the fun of previous years and then some!
“In prior years we have held the event during an evening in November,” says Laura French, NHTM’s Executive Director. “This year we thought it would be fun to kick it up a notch and hold it outside during the summertime. Summertime, beer, and supporting a good cause; what could be better?!”
In addition to the opportunity to sample a variety of locally crafted beers and nosh on a yummy BBQ lunch, guests will be treated to the music of five local performers, all of whom are graciously donating their musical talent to this great cause. “When we put out the call for volunteer entertainment, we were amazed at the resounding response we received,” says French. “We filled all five slots in just a matter of days with a great variety of music!” The performers include Senie Hunt, a local favorite who plays a unique blend of acoustic finger-style guitar and percussive techniques, Rob Lukasiak who plays acoustic rock and eclectic covers, and “Doc & Liz” who play Americana-style music. Also performing is Mike Bradley and Picket Hill, a 3-man group who plays a variety of Americana, folk and country blues.
“Due to the generosity of these folks, as well as our lead sponsor, Sugar River Bank, and donations from The Local, Der Markt at Marklin, MainStreet BookEnds, and Market Basket, the proceeds from this event will benefit the museum and enable us to carry out our mission of telling the stories and preserving the history of one of the most impactful inventions of all time,” says French.
Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased by calling the museum (456-2234), visiting their website (www.nhtelephonemuseum.org) or purchasing them at the door. Register early and receive a Brews for Bell beer glass while supplies last. Be sure to bring extra cash for the 50/50 raffle, lunch, and to purchase additional beer samples.
