Press Release

Great fun, despite the heat.  Our float celebrating Salisbury’s 250th birthday in the Andover 4th of July Parade took second prize!.  Thanks to all those on the Sestercentennial Committee and Historical Society who put it all together. And thanks, of course, to the parade judges!
We have 20 entries in The Welcome Wagons of Salisbury and they are all fantastic floral creations.  Judging will take place August 1. Winners to be announced at Old Home Day. Barn Store gift cards will be awarded to the top three displays.  Judges are graphic designer and gardener Will Clark of Franklin and Richard Tarbin of the popular Tarbin Gardens in Franklin. A map of the displays may be available on Old Home Day so you may drive around and see them for yourself.
Our Andover friends are welcome at Old Home Day on Saturday, August 11.  As usual, we have a full slate of activities, booths, a cemetery walk, parade at 10 AM and much, much more.  Don’t miss the Congregational Church’s Annual Chicken BBQ. Look for our booth where we’ll be selling commemorative items with our distinctive 250th celebration design.  Any profit will go toward more events to benefit the town. A price list is available on our town website, salisburynh.org, and our Facebook page, Salisbury New Hampshire 250th.
