Poetry Reading from ‘Visual Verse-The Ripple Effect’ in Warner

Sunday, December 2 at 2 PM

Press Release

The public is invited to attend a colorful and inspiring poetry reading with viewing of award winning photos from the recently published book, Visual Verse – The Ripple Effects. The poetry reading and projection of photos will take place Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 PM at Main Street Bookends in Warner. (www.mainstreetbookends.com).  Well known Newbury, NH Poet, Author and Educator, Dianalee Velie will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The book was recently published as a partnership effort with the Sunapee Lake Protective Association (SLPA), the John Hay Poetry Society and the Literary Arts Guild of the Center for the Arts.  Poets from the wider Kearsarge and Lake Sunapee region were invited to write a poem in response to award-winning photographs of Lake Sunapee and its watershed. Several photos were taken by students and youth.
The event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome!  Light refreshments will be served. The book and broader project highlight a unique interdisciplinary partnership between several non-profit organizations in the Sunapee region. The Visual Verse – Ripple Effects books will be available for signings by poets and purchase.  These one of a kind books created by local poets and artist, and inspired by Lake Sunapee, may make the perfect holiday gift for friends or family members. Books are also available at local shops and bookstores.
The Literary Arts Guild aims to support and promote the creative written arts in the small towns and rural communities of the Lake Sunapee region. Their projects build community through the arts, poetry and creative writing. This is their second Visual Verse publication.
