Wilmot Ladies Aid Society Announces Merit Scholarship Winners

Press Release

WILMOT – The Wilmot Ladies Aid Society (WLAS) wishes to congratulate its three 2018 Merit Award winners.  The WLAS Merit Awards are monetary prizes, based on exceptional character, scholastic achievement, and community involvement, awarded to exceptional students to help them defray the expense of continuing their education after high school.

This year the students recognized for their achievements are: Shane B. Wilson a freshman at American University in the District of Columbia, D.C., Samantha Hardy a junior at Colby Sawyer College in New London, N.H., and Kathryn Macleod a freshman at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H.

The program is funded by projects such as the society’s famous holiday Cookie Walk and a bandstand supper hosted by the society during the summer months. WLAS president, Connie Jordan commented, “We are so proud to be able to support these outstanding young people.”

All are welcome to attend the society’s fun and friendly monthly lunch meetings starting at noon at the WCA  on the first Thursday of the month beginning in April 2019.
