Wanda Smith, who has been the Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector since March, 2011, will be leaving in December, as she has decided that it’s time to fully retire and enjoy life. I am very sorry to see her leave, as she has been a wonderful asset to the office and a lot of fun to work with.

Patricia Moyer will be our new Deputy. Pat graduated from Granite State College with a degree in Behavioral Science. She is currently on the Planning Board and was previously on the Conservation Commission. She has also been a great help to this office over the last few years working at the elections as a ballot clerk, counting votes, and stuffing envelopes at tax time.

During the next two months, Pat will be observing in the office and attending training classes at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Concord. She will have completed her certification and be ready to work when Wanda leaves in December.

November Schedule

The Town Offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day and again on the 28th and 29th for Thanksgiving. I will have the Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s Office open on Saturday, November 30, from 9 to 11 AM for those of you who find it convenient to come in on the last Saturday of the month.

2013 Tax Bills

The tax rate has not been set at the time of this writing, but the state Department of Revenue Administration will be on schedule, and the tax bills will be mailed in November.

Advance Payments: As taxpayers, you can make small intermittent payments or regular monthly payments during the year to help alleviate the burden of the annual tax bill. If you are interested in Andover billing you semi-annually, let your selectmen know.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
