On Tuesday and Wednesday, November 20 and 21, from 11 AM to 7 PM, the Andover Service Club will be selling pies for Thanksgiving at the Circle K in Potter Place. There will be delicious berry, mincemeat, pecan, and pumpkin pies for $9 each. Proceeds provide scholarships for area students.

Our Christmas luncheon this year will be held on Wednesday, December 12, at the Flying Goose Brew Pub and Grille in New London.

We are starting the planning stage of a special event to be held in April at the Andover Elementary/Middle School. It will be fun event, which we hope many will be able to attend. The proceeds will go towards our scholarship fund. More to come on this.

November Meeting

Our November meeting opened with a welcome from our president, Mary Ofenloch. We had 35 members and two guests. Opening words were given by Kathy Kelly, who honored our veterans by reading a letter from one of her ancestors and telling us the amazing story of survival by her great-great-grandfather.

Our speaker was absolutely fascinating and delightful. She calls herself Auntie Crow or The Medicine Crow Woman. She held us spellbound with stories of the many relics she displayed and passed around for us to enjoy.

The Thrift Shop had a good turnout for Halloween Night. October was a good month for revenues, and we hope the trend continues.

We will be holding a trunk sale at Woodcrest Village in New London this month. We can always use more workers at the Thrift Shop. We will have only one shift on Wednesday nights, from 3 to 5 during the winter months. We will be closed completely from Sunday, December 23, to Wednesday, January 2.

On voting day, November 6, we served lunch consisting of chowders, soup, bread, and other baked goods. It was a huge success, and we will continue to provide this service.

We wish you all happy and safe holidays!
