A Christmas Day Dip in Highland Lake

Hijinks raise $600 for Andover Food Pantry

What to do on an unusually warm (mid-50s) Christmas Day in Andover? How about take a dip in Highland Lake! Not remembering when the last time the lake had been ice-free on Christmas, John Braley decided he wanted to jump in for a picture. He told his friends, who told more friends, then a Facebook post, and we had a crowd! About 100 people showed up, with about 45 of them jumping in the icy cold water with their Santa outfits, Santa hats, and ugly sweaters. Lots of laughs and cold feet made for a fun time. In the spirit of the holiday, food donations and $600 were raised for the Andover Food Pantry. Caption: Jen Braley. Photo: Katie Keyser.
