Arts educators, teaching artists, parents and school leaders from across New Hampshire will meet in Littleton November  3 and 4 for the N.H. State Council on the Arts’ annual Arts Education Partnership Conference.

“Teaching Innovation and Creativity” is a professional development and networking opportunity designed to both strengthen arts education skills and build community among education professionals in all content areas.

A full range of arts disciplines – including dance, design, literature, media arts, music, theater and visual arts – and strategies for integrating them into learning experiences will be addressed through more than two dozen workshops led by trained arts educators.

Alan November, named one of 15 most influential thinkers of the decade by “Tech and Learning Magazine,” will give a keynote address focusing on digital media literacy.

“Teaching Innovation and Creativity” is organized by the N.H. State Council on the Arts in partnership with the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire, the N.H. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, the N.H. Department of Education, New Hampshire Arts Learning Network and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts is a division of the New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. It began in 1965 with legislation designed “to insure that the role of the arts in the life of our communities will continue to grow and play an ever more significant part in the education and welfare of our citizens.” Funding for programs is provided through state appropriations, a partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Conservation License Plate fund.
