Donna P. Thatcher EASTON Donna P. Thatcher, 67, of Easton, passed away on Sunday, November. 12, 2017 at home. Born on October. 20, 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Willis H. Ploof and Rita Turcotte Ploof. Donna earned her PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Rochester. She spent her early career as a child therapist in Rochester, NY and southeastern Massachusetts. Once a mother, she devoted her time to raising her children and to her creative work as an artist. She was active in the Easton arts community and a member of Freehand, a team of professional muralists. She also owned and operated Saut de Basque, a business that manufactured and sold men’s dancewear. Most importantly, Donna wove love, creativity and playfulness into all she did. She saw possibilities instead of barriers, always guided by compassion and intuition. She put her whole spirit into everything she set her mind to and saw strength and beauty in all she encountered. She listened with her heart and shared her wisdom and clarity with those she knew. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend. She remains an inspiration. Her spirit will be with us forever. She will be missed by her husband William Thatcher of Easton; daughter Alyssa Thatcher of Rochester; son Myles Thatcher of San Francisco, CA; brother Douglas Ploof and wife Neila of Andover, NH; sisters Deborah Ploof and partner Greg Cangialosi of western Massachusetts, and Dianna Ploof and husband Benjamin Handen of Pittsburgh, PA; brother-in-law Jon Thatcher and wife Kathy of Chesterfield, NH; sister-in-law Linda Thatcher of St. Petersburg, FL; and nephews Adam Handen and Lucas Thatcher.
