PATRICIA PINGREE EDWARDS DICKSON

DICKSON, Patricia Pingree Edwards Of New London died peacefully on Dec. 9, 2017 at age 92, surrounded by family. The beloved wife of Tracy C. Dickson III, Patricia was born in Lima, OH, Oct. 21, 1925 to William K. Edwards and Sarah Tillard Edwards. She graduated Middlebury College in 1949. Patricia taught grade school English for several years, and later nursery school.
Patricia married Tracy C. Dickson III in Bridgeport, CT on February 21, 1952. Predeceased by her parents and sister, Joanne Edwards Kronauer, she is survived by her husband Tracy; sons, Tom Dickson and wife Janet Dickson of Andover, NH; Bill Dickson and wife Mary Burger of Medford, NY; daughter, Sarah (Dickson) Higgins and husband Shawn Higgins of Kennebunkport, ME. Patricia was a beloved grandmother to Lucian Dickson, Liz Higgins and Austin Higgins.
Mrs. Dickson was an active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, the New London Antiques Club and various garden clubs. She was an interior designer and for many years enjoyed buying and selling antiques with her husband. Known for her vivacious style and talent for friendship, Patricia enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Her love of music frequently manifested itself in impromptu serenades.
Prior to moving to New London in 1990, Mrs. Dickson resided in Weston, CT and Hingham, MA. Patricia was a member of the Mayflower Society, the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a direct descendant of Governor Simon Bradstreet and wife Anne Bradstreet of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
