Andover Congregational Church News for March

By Sandy Miller

The Lenten season began on Wednesday, February 14th..  Our Church joined  with the Boscawen Congregational Church.for the Ash Wednesday service.  During the Lenten season, the sacrament of Holy Communion will be held every Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Church, lasting approximately ½ hour.  We would love to have you join us for this meaningful service.  Other events taking place leading up to Easter include a Tennebre service on Maundy Thursday, a Good Friday service and, of course, the Easter Sunday Sunrise service held around 6:00 or 6:30 AM (depending on time of sunrise) followed by Easter breakfast at the Grange Hall at 7:00 AM.  There is no charge for the breakfast, and we encourage you to come regardless of whether or not you attended the sunrise service. Also, please join us as we give glory to God for his most precious gift at our Easter service at 9:30 AM on April 1st.  All are welcome.
The Andover Congregational Church’s annual meeting was held on January 28th following a pot luck luncheon. The officers voted in for this year are:  Senior Elder – Bonnie Wesley; Elder – Bob Grover; Treasurer – Donna Thompson; Secretary – Linda McGrail; Vestry Members – Beth Bellows, Bruce Thompson, Darlene Tilton, Andy Vissser, Amy Wagner and Linda Wickstrom. An operating budget of $120,062 was approved.  A Vestry organizational and planning retreat was held on February 16th and 17th at La Sallette  in Enfield .

From time to time, the Church holds a healing service – usually every 4-6 weeks.  They are held at the Church on a weeknight from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.  The last one was held on February 15  to encourage you to invite your friends and family who are in need of healing.
We are collecting money for the mission, “LOVE 146”, for the month of February.  This organization deals with the abolition of child trafficking & exploitation.  The Mission Committee will choose a different Mission each month.
You are always welcome at the Andover Congregational Church.  Feel free to call the Church office (735-5160) to speak with Pastor John Wagner for more information on what’s going on at the Church or if you need help in any way.  Our Church service and Sunday School begin at 9:30 AM every Sunday.
