William Lorden, February 20, 2014

William R. “Bill” Lorden, 76, of Alexandria died on February 20, 2014, at the Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida where he was spending the winter.

Mr. Lorden was born in Franklin, the son of Cornelius P. and Anna “Helen” Lorden in February of 1938 and grew up in East Andover, attending school there. After school he joined the United States Air Force from 1954 through 1958 and then returned to active service with the United States Navy in 1964.

Bill loved to be around his family and people in general. He loved the New Hampshire weather and outdoors, going fishing or for drives. He also enjoyed traveling, seeing as many places as he could, as well being an avid coin collector.

He is predeceased by three brothers, Robert Lorden, Cornelius F. Lorden, and Daniel Lorden; and a sister, Mary Lorden.

Bill is survived by his wife, Esperanza (Gonzalez) Lorden of Puerto Rico; two daughters, Diane Lorden of Puerto Rico and Yvonne Lorden of Casselberry, Florida; two sisters, Josephine Dziura of Warner and Helen Sugg and her husband Raymond of Glendore, California; his brother, John Lorden and his wife Miriam of Webster; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

There were no calling hours. A graveside funeral service was held on March 10 in the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
