Willy sits on Peter Zak’s lap, next to the book that Mary Lloyd-Evans co-authored about Willy’s finding a home at Highland Lake Apple Farm.

This book was co-authored by Mary Lloyd-Evans of Highland Lake Apple Farm, East Andover. This true story is told in the words of Willy, the cat. Willy appeared at the farm some eight years ago. After spending a few days at the farm he would leave to visit another home nearby. However, after a few weeks he made the decision to live at the farm. He has impacted the lives of many. His love for our cat, Spookey, was quite beautiful and he protected him at all times. He greets all of our customers and makes sure they pay on the honor system. Most recently he has taken on the responsibility to protect Hazel, our new cat. Hazel was owned by Mr. Bryant Adams and came to the farm after Bryant passed away. Willy is a unique cat who has the need to be needed.

The book is available at the farm on Maple Street, East Andover. It can be found at both Andover’s libraries. The Andover first graders enjoyed the reading of the book at a recent visit to pick apples. They have written some delightful stories about Willy.
