Thanks from Andover’s New Selectman

By David Blinn, Selectman

First, I want to tip my hat to all who voted. It is an important right and one that we should always take pride in as citizens of our town, state, and country.

To those who voted for me, my sincerest appreciation for placing your trust in me as a Town Selectman. To those who voted for my fellow town advocate, Duncan Coolidge, I will do my very best to earn the same respect you have for Duncan going forward. To Duncan, I truly appreciated your handshake and best wishes. Your words were taken to heart: “Thank you.”

Town Meeting that evening further reinforced, in my mind, the commitment and passion the residents of our town have in making Andover a great place to live and raise our families.

On March 10, I was sworn in as a Selectman. To the members of the Town Administration and my fellow selectmen, thank you for the warm welcome and kind words expressed. They are a good and solid team for me to work with as we pursue the work of our community and its citizens.

Proof is in the pudding, as they say; some may like chocolate, some tapioca, and others vanilla, but the key is we agree on the pudding. I will earnestly do my best to provide a swirled mix, where all can enjoy the fair benefits of being a member of our fine community. There will always be a pad and pencil in my truck to take notes should any of you wish to share your thoughts and ideas, which are critical to success.

Sincerely,

Dave Blinn
