Hospital Program Welcomes Andover Photographer David Bashaw

New London Hospital press release

New London Hospital (NLH) announced the opening of a new art exhibit featuring local and regional artists. The installation features five area artists and will be on view until January 2013. The works on display include pieces from David Bashaw of East Andover as well as Yvonne Shukovsky, Mark Vernon, and Connie Leathers of New London and Elizabeth Moore of Grantham.

Returning artist Yvonne Shukovsky has explored various media in her 40 years of creating art and recently has returned to painting in oil pastels, mixed media, and small paintings on canvas. She attended Boston University, Ohio University, and the DeCordova Museum School for her academic training. Another veteran of the NLH Art Program, Mark Vernon creates relief sculptures, three-dimensional sculptures, mobiles, and layered compositions and will be displaying his works.

New to the NLH Art Program, Elizabeth Moore is a mixed media artist. Her work is typically multi-layered with collaged elements, heavily textured, brightly colored, and non-representational. Also appearing for the first time at New London Hospital, David Bashaw has his photography works on display and Connie Leathers is showing her acrylic paintings. Connie’s work is often inspired by nature, while David focuses his photography on still life and landscapes.

The installation will be on exhibit until Friday, January 11, 2013. All artwork may be purchased by contacting the artist, and price sheets are available at the Friends’ Gift Shop. A portion of all sales benefits the programs of New London Hospital.
