Celebrate NH Youth Arts Month with Statewide Opportunities to Experience Creativity

Press Release

March in New Hampshire can be a time when you need a little extra joy in life. Youth Arts Month offers an antidote to short days, muddy boots and salty cars.

A national initiative, New Hampshire’s Youth Arts Month celebrates the outstanding work by youth in theatre, dance, media, music, visual arts and creative writing, and shares the importance of participation in high quality arts education.

Throughout March, Youth Arts Month will provide the opportunity to experience a wide variety of arts created and performed by New Hampshire students, including:

Youth Arts Exhibit and N.H. High School Short Film Festival screening at the N.H. State Library, March 1 through 31; public reception March 31, 1 to 3 PM

–       Arts Education in New Hampshire Exhibit in the tunnel walkway between State House and Legislative Office Building, March 6 through 31

–       N.H. Music Educators’ Large Group Festival at Goffstown High School (middle school performers) March 9 and at Bow High School (high school performers)

–       N.H. Educational Theatre Guild’s Regional Festival of one-act plays performed by high school students at Pinkerton Academy (Derry) and Windham High School, March 9, and at Salem and Kearsarge Regional (Sutton) High Schools, March 23
