Casting for Recovery announces weekend retreat  for breast cancer survivors

New London Hospital is proud to partner with Casting for Recovery, a non-profit organization offering support and educational 3-day retreats for women with breast cancer will hold a weekend retreat at the Barbara C. Harris Center June 7-9, 2019 in Greenfield, N.H. This all expenses paid retreat is open to women of all ages and in all stage of breast cancer treatment and recovery, and is offered at no cost to participants.

The mission of Casting for Recovery is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing.

“We are so excited to bring this amazing retreat opportunity to New Hampshire,” says Catherine Bardier, Director of Wellness and Population Health at New London Hospital. “Benita Walton a Psychiatrist at NLH, is a co-founder of Casting for Recovery so we are so thrilled to support her efforts helping women with breast cancer.”

Since 1996 CfR has served more than 8,000 breast cancer survivors nationwide with the help of more than 1,800 volunteers, including medical and psychosocial professionals, fly fisher instructors and program alumna.

The number of participants is limited.
The deadline for submitting an application to attend the retreat is April 5.
