The Andover Historical Society is pleased to announce the winners of its “I Am History, Too” contest for the students of Andover Elementary/Middle School.
Grade 3 student Emma McNutt (in front, with her winning entry) takes First Prize and $50 for her triptych on the history of 96 Channel Road in East Andover. Grade 4 students Paige Orcutt, Talia Hardie , Lissa Teeter and Wyatt Barton win Second Prize and $25 each for their poster project about Potter Place. Grade 4 students Takoda Rosser, Addison Bickford and Alyssa Wheeler win Third Prize and $10 each for their poster about JJ’s Market in Andover Village. All except Barton, who was absent when photo was taken, are shown here, along with their checks and certificates noting their achievement.
The annual contest invites students to create a written, oral, or visual project that celebrates a person, place or thing which they think is important in their lives today. The winning projects will be on display at the Andover Historical Society Museum in Potter Place this summer.
