Canvassers are out and about getting advertisers for the Program. This year’s Program will have a new look. You are going to love it!
We’re seeing a brisk pace of registrations for vendors on the Green. The committee is working on increasing availability of electricity on the Green. Other features this year will be an activity/demonstration tent, a new Bluegrass band, and back by popular demand, the “Where are You From” map. Last year we saw responses from coast to coast.
Other fundraising activities include our extremely popular raffle, which as of this date has 25 items. We will have as many if not more items than last year. They include gift certificates, services, and merchandise. With so many prizes, you have a good chance to win!
The first year of the Andover 4th of July celebration (July 4, 1942) was a Children’s Parade. Once again this year, our 77th year, the Children’s Parade will follow the Color Guard at the front of the parade. All children are welcome. Decorate bicycles, wagons, selves…..anything goes! Parents are encouraged to walk along with kids.
The parade theme this year is Sports! This includes any sport…winter, summer, any sport you choose. How about doing a sports related family float…like camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, golfing? You choose. Businesses, organizations and neighborhood groups are also encouraged to enter a float. It’s free! And remember! A Grand Prize of $250 will be awarded to the float winner! Also, cash prizes will be awarded to three other categories: vehicles, other vehicle types and animals.
This year you you will hear the thump, thump of drums and blare of the horns coming up Main Street as the Muchachos Marching Band joins our legendary parade.
Keep an eye out for increased activity on Carr Field prior to the fireworks. The committee is working on some game booths, refreshments, glo sticks and toys.

Last year’s free concert at the AE/MS amphitheater was such a success we have decided to do it again. Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 6th! Nick’s Other Band and Diamond Special will be performing. The Andover Emergency Services Auxiliary will have refreshments for sale to benefit their organization.

It’s a simple formula. Wake up to a beautiful day, stop in for the pancake breakfast, hit the market on the Green, honor our country at the flag raising, enjoy a fabulous parade, soak up some good Bluegrass music, play some games at Carr Field, enjoy a snack while you watch an epic fireworks display………..fall into bed!
