On Thursday, May 16 at 7 PM, at the Wilmot Library, Dr. Terry Tucker from the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory will speak on his “30 Years of Arctic Sea Ice Adventures.”

In his talk Terry will describe a variety of the field expeditions in which he participated. He will highlight the objectives of the trips and how the research teams tried to accomplish those objectives. He will briefly describe the current loss of Arctic sea ice.

W. B. (Terry) Tucker has conducted research on Arctic sea ice for over 30 years. He is a retired research geophysicist for the US Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory. His research has ranged from small-scale physical properties of ice cores to ice thickness in the Arctic basin. He participated in many field expeditions over his career from icebreaking ships, camps on the ice, and aircraft flights over the ice.
