News from the Town Clerk

Press release

Well it looks like winter is finally over.  Time to get outdoors to get some sun and swat bugs. There are a few things I’d like to share with all of you:

1.  Dogs. Dog licenses are required by New Hampshire law and are available every year beginning January 1. They are due by April 30. I did not send out renewal notices this year to try to save some money.

As of April 1 there were still over 800 dogs not licensed.  I’m sure some of these are either inactive or have moved away.  If you have still not licensed your dog, please do so as soon as you can, or if you no longer have your dog please update the status.

2. A few changes to our work schedule (You can also check the Town’s Web site.)

Our regular hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 AM to 2 PM and the last Saturday of the month from 9 to 11 AM.

We will be closed for Memorial Day weekend, Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27. We will, however, be open on Saturday, June 1.

We will be closed on Wednesday, June 5, for a Town Clerks’ workshop.

We will be closed on Thursday, July 4.

We will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, September 11 through 13, for a conference.

We will be open on Monday, October 14 (Columbus Day) but closed on Veterans Day, Monday November 11.

We will be closed for Thanksgiving weekend from November 28 through December 1, but will open on the Saturday before, November 23.

We will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but on Saturday, December 28, we will stay open from 9 AM to 2 PM.

I hope you all enjoy your summer!
