Local Artists Featured at Open Studio Tour

Saturday, October 12 & Sunday, October 13

By Jay Fitzpatrick
Jay Fitzpatrick and Edibeth Farrington prepare some of their artwork for their Open Studio exhibit on October 12 and 13.  The public is invited to visit between 10 and 3 PM on those days.

Local artists Edibeth Farrington and Jay Fitzpatrick will host a joint Open Studio featuring their work on Columbus Day weekend, October 12 and 13, in Andover.  Studio hours will be 10 to 3 PM both days at Ms. Farrington’s studio, 443 Elbow Pond Road.

The event is part of the Lake Sunapee/Kearsarge Region Center for the Arts’ Third Annual Open Studio Tour which features the work of several regional artists.

Ms. Farrington is a practicing local artist specializing in non-representational art.  A New Hampshire resident since 1972, she taught art in the public school system for 25 years, and now devotes her time working her studio practice and spending time in nature as much as possible.  She has exhibited in many galleries throughout New England and her work is in private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Mr. Fitzpatrick is a photographic artist, and has exhibited his work through the Center for the Arts, the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists, the Lakes Region Art Association and others. He studied photography at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, and now offers workshops on various aspects of photography.

The local artists will be exhibiting their work and offering it for sale, and will be more than happy to discuss the creative processes they use to create their work.
