Wednesday Matinees Returning to the Hub

Starting October 9 at 2:30 PM

Monthly afternoon movies at The Andover Community Hub have returned and will launch on Wednesday, October 9, at 2:30 PM with the 2017 adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast,” a live action musical adapted from Disney’s 1991 animated film of the same name.  All are welcome. Popcorn is served and showings are free although donations are much appreciated.

“Beauty and the Beast’s” star-studded cast includes Emma Watson and Dan Stevens with Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson in supporting roles.  The movie grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing live-action musical film of all time.

Matinees will continue on the second Wednesday through December as an alternative to the First Friday series shown last year, in order to see which day proves to be the most popular.  Other films being considered include the new “Where’d You Go, Bernadette,” and “Downton Abbey: The Movie,” the recent “RBG,” “La La Land,” and “Woman at War,” as well as oldies like “Fried Green Tomatoes,” “Steel Magnolias,” and “Nobody’s Fool.”  Those who’d like to be kept posted on upcoming events can contact TheAndoverHub@nullgmail.com to be added to the ongoing email list.
