Warner Historical Society Organizes Local Open Doors Events

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, November 1, 2 and 3

Press Release

Warner Opens Doors for Weekend Art Events
Third Annual Art Walk and Open Doors Shopping Tour

On November 1 to 3, eight artists and artisans will transform the historic rooms of Warner Historical Society’s Upton Chandler House Museum into their own personal art studios, in conjunction with the statewide New Hampshire Open Doors fall shopping and touring event.  The artists will occupy their onsite studios on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday, to discuss or demonstrate how they create their art, and to offer their creative works for sale.

“We’re going to start the weekend with an Art Walk on Friday evening, from the Museum to the Mainstreet BookEnds Gallery,” noted Rebecca Courser, organizer for the Warner Historical Society.  “Besides our eight artists and artisans, the MainStreet BookEnds Gallery will feature the works of several area artists. It’s an easy, short walk in our village. There will be refreshments at both locations, and we anticipate a good crowd.  We also expect that the weekend Open Doors venue will become an annual event at the Upton Chandler House Museum. Some of our creative artists and artisans do not have secure studios for public visits, so they’re excited about the opportunity to create their own studios in the Museum, where they can enjoy meeting with customers and interacting with fellow artists.  And, it will be very convenient for the public to visit and shop at several studios at one location.”

Works by participating artists include jewelry, fine arts, and wooden ware. Artwork and crafts and a large selection of quality, affordable gift items will be available for sale during the event. Featured artists include Mimi Wiggin, David, Laurette and Sean Carroll, Denise Green, Gary Young, Sarah Mundahl, and Michelle Marson.  The Warner Historical Society museum store will also be open to the public.

The Art Walk will take place on Friday evening, Nov. 1 in the Warner village. Opening artist receptions with refreshments will be held from 5 to7 PM at the Upton Chandler House Museum at 10 West Main Street, and 6 to 8 PM  at MainStreet BookEnds Gallery, 16 East Main Street.

The Open Doors shopping event at the Upton Chandler House Museum will be held Saturday and Sunday. November 2 & 3, from 10 AM to 4 PM.  The Open Doors Art Show and sale at MainStreet BookEnds will be open from 9 AM to 6 PM on those days.
