What’s Happening In Wilmot this December?

Press Release

Join the fun at the Wilmot Community Association

There’s a ho – ho – whole lot happening in Wilmot this December.
The WCA Board of Directors and staff wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year. Come and join us this December for the annual Holiday Craft Fair, a visit with Santa and a whole lot more.

We need your support
The WCA’s 2019 Annual Fund will wind down at the end of December. Thanks to the generous support of members and friends, the WCA is able to maintain the Red Barn and Timmy Patten Park as well as sponsor many free events throughout the year. We hope to see you at any and all of them. (Read on to learn more!) The Annual Fund is an important part of the WCA’s diverse fund-raising strategy. Thank you in advance for your generous support of the WCA’s 2019 Annual Fund.

December Line Up
Thanksgiving Weekend – January 5: Light up your neighborhood.
Saturday, December 7: Holiday Craft Fair
Sunday, December 8: Santa Comes to Wilmot

(Please note – there will be no Senior Luncheon in December. We’ll see you in January.)

The WCA office will be closed the weeks of December 23 and 30. WCA events, on-going activities, and private rentals continue even when the WCA office is closed.

As always, you can stay fit with tai chi, karate, or yoga. Or meet new friends at Mah Jongg. Contact the instructor or organizer for more information and any scheduling changes due to the holidays or bad weather.

Just a reminder – when the weather outside is frightful …
The WCA follows the Kearsarge Regional School District’s lead for closing. Questions? Check out the WCA weather policy.

Wilmot and the WCA have a lot to offer. The WCA board and staff hope to see you often at the Red Barn.

Read on for details!

Let’s all light up Wilmot
For some added sparkle during the holidays, the WCA is encouraging everyone in Wilmot to participate in Light Up Your Neighborhood. The event started Thanksgiving weekend and goes through Sunday, January 5 (the twelfth day of Christmas). It’s easy to participate. String up some lights, or throw a sleigh on the roof, and ask your neighbors to do the same. If you like, send us an e-mail with a few photos and the participating stretch of road(s). Please send the information by December 20 and we’ll post it on the WCA Facebook page.

This is not a contest, just a gentle nudge to encourage Wilmot residents to deck their homes with holiday lights.

Shop ’til you drop
Get your Holiday shopping done and stock up on homemade cookies at the WCA’s annual Holiday Craft Fair. The fair runs from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, December 7, at the New London Outing Club Indoor Center, 114 Cougar Court. More than 50 crafters will display their handmade wares. As always, the Wilmot Ladies Aid Society will hold their Famous Cookie Walk, and Rachel’s Café will offer food and beverages throughout the day. Admission is free.

We love Santa at the WCA
Santa Comes to Wilmot on Sunday, December 8. He’ll be at the WCA Red Barn from 1 to 2:30 PM. Children are invited to share their lists with Santa, and John Swindell will be taking complimentary photos. There will be a holiday craft project for the kids, and cookies and cocoa for all. Everything is free and all are welcome.
