Access to Town Offices Limited Due to Coronavirus

Business conducted by phone, e-mail, and appointment

Much to say. Where to begin…

Dog licenses are now due.  They are available beginning January 1 each year, and are due by April 30.  I will be at the Andover Fish and Game Rabies clinic on April 25 from 1 to 2 PM selling licenses.

We will not be sending out Dog Renewal notices. I cannot justify spending over $400 to mail the notices.  This expense is non-recoverable. You can however still send us a check and we will send you the license.

The cost for the license is $6.50 for puppies and for spayed/ neutered dogs, $9.50 for unaltered dogs, and if you are 65 and older you can pay a $2 senior rate for one dog.  Groups of 5 or more dogs will cost $20. If there are changes, please let us know. Include your dog’s name (names) on the check.

The Select Board and the Emergency Management Team have decided that our office will be on lock-down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are still here working as usual.  We encourage you to use the mail and do on-line transactions. Credit cards do charge a fee, however, there is no charge for ACH transactions. If you need vital records, you can send a request by mail with a check for $15 ($10 for each additional) and we will mail it to you.

We will be open on Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment only, for transactions that must be done in person.  If you have any questions please feel free to call. Our phone number is 735-5018. We are hopeful that this situation is temporary. We’ll keep you updated as things are constantly changing. Another resource is the DMV website and the Town’s website.  As of now, the DMV has announced that 20 day plates will be good until April 30, 2020, and that there is a six month extension on drivers licenses. Everyone stay safe and healthy!

Notice to newly elected persons and persons named to a committee; please come to the Town Clerk’s office (call ahead) to take your oath of office.  By law, you cannot assume your duties until you do so.

For election results and Town meeting results see separate reports in this issue.

Speaking of elections and Town meetings,  I again cannot thank the volunteers enough for all your help. Year after year you step up to help.  You are so appreciated. Also, thanks to Marie at Pizza Chef for coming in on your day off to fix supper for us.
