Apply For A Scholarship To Attend The Becoming An Outdoors-Woman Workshop

Learn outdoor skills in a fun, noncompetitive setting

Press release

The Elkins Fish and Game Club is once again asking women in the Kearsarge area who are interested in learning outdoor skills in a fun, noncompetitive setting to apply for a $385 scholarship to the fall Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) workshop. The scholarship is open to any woman age 18 or older who is a resident of the Kearsarge area. The deadline for applying for the scholarship is April 29, 2020.

To apply for this scholarship, go to nhbow.com and print out a scholarship application form to fill out and postmark by the April 29 deadline.  Please note that the scholarship recipient will still need to sign up for the fall program itself in early June, and being awarded a scholarship does not guarantee your placement in specific classes.

For more information about the Elkins Fish and Game Club area scholarship, contact Carla Marshall at dmarsh@nulltds.net, or call 603-848-0432. The scholarship recipient will be invited to attend a meeting of the Elkins Fish and Game Club to talk about her experience.

This year’s fall BOW workshop will take place September 11 – 13, 2020, at Rockywold/Deephaven Camps on Squam Lake in Holderness. The full cost of the workshop is $425, which includes lodging, meals, instruction, and equipment use. The weekend includes a chance to explore many different outdoor interests, from fishing, fly tying, and kayaking, to hunting, shooting sports, and handling firearms.

New Hampshire’s Becoming an Outdoors-Woman programs are sponsored by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation. The Elkins Fish and Game Club is New Hampshire’s oldest continuously operating fish and game club, founded in 1894.  For more information about the club go to elkinsfishandgame.net.
